A beloved downtown landmark has new stewards. Kelly Suites on Broadway, a charming four-room historic boutique hotel located in the heart of Jim Thorpe, has recently been purchased by Frank and Sarah Kudlack, local entrepreneurs and owners of Nomad Distilling Co.
Previously operated by two sisters, the Suites have long offered guests a cozy and stylish stay while also housing Habitual—a thoughtfully curated retail space on the ground floor featuring handmade beauty products, teas, and artisan goods. While the transition marks a new chapter for the property, the Kudlacks are committed to honoring the spirit of what made the Suites special while infusing it with their own brand of hospitality.
Kelly Suites had paused reservations for the past several months while navigating the transition in ownership, but reservations are officially open again—just in time for summer getaways and for those planning ahead for Jim Thorpe’s beloved Fall Foliage Festival.
“We’ve always loved the atmosphere and community here,” says Sarah Kudlack. “When we first came to Jim Thorpe looking for a location for one of our Nomad Tasting Rooms, we fell in love. It’s a town that makes you want to dive in and become a part of it.”
The Kudlacks opened the Nomad Tasting Room at 67 Race Street in 2022, offering small-batch spirits crafted in nearby Williamsport, PA, along with seasonal cocktails, curated events, and a welcoming space for locals and visitors alike.
With the acquisition of Kelly Suites, the Kudlacks are deepening their commitment to Jim Thorpe—not shifting it. “I’m sure people are going to assume that we’re moving locations with this new purchase, but we’re not,” Sarah explains. “We plan on continuing to operate out of our shop on Race Street while also taking on the Suites.”
As they step into this new venture, the couple plans to maintain the charm and warmth that Kelly Suites is known for, while exploring new ways to blend their passion for craft, community, and hospitality.
“Our goal is to create experiences—whether it’s through a thoughtfully made cocktail or a beautiful weekend stay—that help people slow down and savor the moment,” says Frank Kudlack. “This feels like a natural extension of what we already love doing.”
The Kudlacks look forward to welcoming guests to Kelly Suites under their care and are excited to see how this new chapter unfolds within the vibrant fabric of downtown Jim Thorpe.
