In the absence of our town’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade festivities, we celebrate an Irish Fest on the evening of Saturday, March 16. Our community began as Mauch Chunk with our Irish ancestors providing the labor for area coal mines, in the forests, on the Lehigh Canal, the Switchback Gravity Railroad and later major railroads serving the U.S. and our community. These workers physically constructed the towns’ buildings and resided in Mauch Chunk or nearby towns. These craftsmen developed the beautiful communities that endure today.
Our party will be from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM at the beautiful March Chunk Ballroom located at 41 West Broadway in Jim Thorpe. Join us in song and dance to celebrate our Irish heritage. (Doors open at 6:30 PM.)
Attendees will enjoy a delicious buffet dinner and dessert. A cash bar will also be available. The cost is $35 per person or $60 reduced cost for two attendees. Make your reservation by calling 570-325-9190.
Payment can be made by credit or debit cards in advance or by check payable to the Mauch Chunk Museum and delivered to 41 W. Broadway, Jim Thorpe, PA 18229 prior to March 10th, or pay at the door. We look forward to having you join us for the fun!
