Jim Thorpe Woman Competing for Ms. Wheelchair PA

A woman from Carbon County, who spent years searching for her purpose in life, has found a way to help people with disabilities.

Danielle DeAngelis is competing in the Ms. Wheelchair Pennsylvania competition.

Organizers expressed that it’s not your typical beauty pageant. The goal is to advocate for people with disabilities.

The 27-year-old from Jim Thorpe was paralyzed in a car crash seven years ago.  DeAngelis said her positive attitude helped get her behind the wheel again.

Win or lose, she’s spreading hope and inspiring women of all abilities to live life to the fullest.

“I would love to see more businesses be accessible,” said DeAngelis.

The Ms. Wheelchair Pennsylvania competition is taking place in Erie on January 5th.

Maddie Conway of Dunmore is also competing for the crown. (pahomepage.com)
