Jim Thorpe Area Running Festival

Attention runners, walkers, and general lovers of exercise and the outdoors! Registration is now open for all events for The Jim Thorpe Area Running Festival, May 11th and 12th. The two-day event hosted by The RUNegades will help raise money for Turn To Us, Inc., a local nonprofit organization that provides assistance to the families of children and adults suffering from major and chronic illnesses.

The festivities kick off on Friday May 10th with a pre-race pasta buffet at the Broadway Grille and Pub, the restaurant in the historic Inn at Jim Thorpe. Then, on Saturday May 11th, the all-new half marathon course will take runners from the beautiful view atop Flagstaff Mountain to the shores of Mauch Chunk Lake to the steps of Packer Mansion.

The day will wrap-up with post-race refueling, a live band, and an award ceremony in the beautiful Kemmerer Park. With breathtaking views, serene woodland paths, a healthy dose of history, and an overall elevation drop of nearly 700 feet, this half marathon is sure to please runners of all ages and abilities!

On Sunday May 12th, treat Mom to her healthiest (and most beautiful) Mother’s Day yet. The 5K, 10K and free kids’ fun run will take runners around the shores of the beautiful Owl Creek Reservoir in Tamaqua, PA, a short drive from downtown Jim Thorpe. Afterwards, we’ll cap off the weekend festival with an all-out, family-friendly celebration including music and games.

Runners who really feel like a challenge can register for the “super trifecta” and complete all THREE events to earn an extra shirt and a specially-designed interlocking medal.

Join the RUNegades and Turn To Us for a fantastic event in a beautiful locale for a great local cause.

Spots are limited and the price of each event increases as we get closer to the festival. So register today at www.runjimthorpe.com.
