22nd Annual Jim Thorpe Earth Day Festival April 27

Print

The 22nd Annual Jim Thorpe Earth Day Festival is set to kick off a big day of celebrations on Saturday, April 27th. (Rain date – April 28th) The festival was started in 1997 by a group of like-minded individuals who not only share a love for music and art but also a love for their environment. The Festival is based in beautiful Jim Thorpe, surrounded by mountains, streams and the Lehigh River.

The day begins with the Lehigh River Clean Up, one of the most important activities of the day. Also included in the festivities will be live music, handmade crafts, a basket raffle, delicious food, kids recycled craft area, a bounce house, face-painting, eco-workshops, good vibes and more!

Activities will be held at various locations around Downtown Jim Thorpe, including Josiah White Park, Dimmick Memorial Library and Horizons. The festival is free to the public but donations are always appreciated.

Now a non-profit organization, the Jim Thorpe Earth Day Festival aims to create a fun festival for the community while educating and promoting environmental awareness among local residents and tourists alike.
