The Mauch Chunk Opera House will host the seventh annual Harvest Jam with Free Range Folk at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21 at 14 W. Broadway in Jim Thorpe.
The event will include a dinner from 14-Acre Farm and music by Free Range Folk and Friends. Free Range Folk consists of: Josh Finsel, banjo and vocals; Kevin Ruch, guitar and vocals; Amber Breiner, bass and harmony vocals; Shawn McCarty, mandolin and vocals; Brad Konstas, drums and harmony vocals; Sara Ruch, saw, percussion and harmony vocals; Kyle O’Brien, saxophone, percussion and harmony vocals; Brett Andrew, electric guitar, keyboards and harmony vocals; and Doug Makofka, accordion and keyboards.
Like every year, the event will again be a little bit different.
“This year, we’re going to have Free Range Folk as the main act and will have all of the FRF member’s side projects as guests,” Finsel said.
O’Brien’s side project, Ecospheres, will open the night, hitting the stage at 8 p.m.
Finsel said that FRF is still working out the other acts, but there will possibly be a showing from Andrews’ side project, Hunkajunk.
And like previous years, there will be slideshow elements incorporated on the backdrop of the stage.
Free Range Folk came together in 2010 over longstanding interests in farming, family, a back-to-basics lifestyle, and general love of the outdoors and music. The band’s music includes elements of Americana, bluegrass and acoustic rock.
14 Acre Farm is a locally-owned organic farm, owned and operated by FRF members Kevin and Sara Ruch. The couple also owns the Union Publick House at 212 Center Street in Jim Thorpe on the east side of town, which they give the moniker “the only dive bar in Jim Thorpe.”
Tickets are $15 for adults in advance and $5 for children age 12 and under. Day-of-show tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children age 12 and under.
