Pour le Gourmet

Go to the Artsy Olive, 91 Broadway and build your own giftbox of artisanal oils, vinegars and balsamics. While making your picks and taking in their shelves of pure deliciousness, have a little nosh. There are always lots of soups and spreads to sample. The spirit of the season is there all year with a 10% locals discount to Carbon County residents.

Their sister store, The Artsy Gourmet, 39 Broadway offers a huge selection of foodie fabulousness. For the brunch maker on your list seek out their Bloody Mary mixers. There are more than thirty to choose from with cool sounding brands like Bloody Revolution and flavors ranging from Wasabi Ginger to Meaty Ribeye. You’ll hope you’re invited to brunch!

We all know a “how hot can you make it? I can take it!” type. Bestow a gift of Meet Your Maker Retribution Sauce, or one in their .50 Caliber Heat line. Note: you may have to sign a waiver to purchase it…they are THAT HOT!  And for the, wait for the reaction gift, go no further than a bottle of Bubba’s Butt Blaster Hot Sauce. One and done!

Shop the perfect Cup of Joe

Muggles Mug, 79 Broadway sells gourmet coffee beans and if seeing what’s in YOUR cards strikes your fancy, there will be a Taro Card reader in the magical café on weekends. Complete that coffee lover’s gift at Curiosities Coffee and Ice House, 77 Broadway with a pound or two of Mauch Chunk Coffee Company whole beans. Might as well enjoy a Santa Cookie Ice Cream or Peppermint Latté while you’re there.

If Wine Is Just Fine

Stonekeep Meadery & Wine Cellars, 77 Broadway has their Winter Solstice Mead bottled and ready to go under the tree. Put it in one of their adorable Sock Monkey wine totes and voila, happiness.  Jam’s, vinaigrette’s and spreads are also available. And please do partake of a free tasting.

For that special someone who totes their wine about a special tote is in order. Stone Row Stitching, 29 Race St. has beautifully embroidered canvas ones with fun sayings and customization is available.

Stroll through the impeccably decorated Josiah White Park and land at the tasting room of Big Creek Vineyard, 41 Susquehanna St. Pick up a bottle or two of their wine grown at their vineyard in Kunkletown, PA. They specialize in interesting varietals like Seyval, Frontenac and Marechal Foch which are sure to impress, and pair perfectly with a logo wine glass. “To make sure” it’s the right bottle tastings are available, as well as cheese plates. For an expression of holiday in a glass try their Glühwein.

Up in Smoke

OK it’s not technically food or drink, but they are enjoyed with food and drink. OK Cigars, 25 Broadway offers gift sets with top of the line and very fine Gurkha Cigars. The set comes with a cutter and there is an impressive selection of lighters.

Still in a pickle or a jam for a gift?

How about pickles and jam! The Country Cottage, 37 Race St. is a must stop. The cozy shop specializes in house-made pickles and jams. A jar of Hot Dill is the hot ticket, and the Cranberry Jam looks positively Christmassy.

For those who need the EASY button just go to the bars, restaurants, and cafés and grab gift certificates and gift cards.
