There are plenty of snow-swirled adventures on tap in the Pocono Mountains. During the winter, the region’s snowy mountain slopes offer a collection of exhilarating snow tubing spots. At the Pocono Mountain Villas, White Lightning Snowtubing offers snowy adventures all winter long, even when the weather doesn’t cooperate. Open from December to March, the family-friendly location has full snow-making coverage and lights for night tubing. The park is also ideal for youngsters. There’s an easy-to-use Magic Carpet Lift for snow tubers to access the six lanes.
2. Ski Big Bear at Masthope Mountain
Family-friendly Ski Big Bear at Masthope Mountain is the perfect spot for young skiers and snowboarders learning the ropes. The resort’s tubing park, with three tubing lanes that are groomed daily, also makes for a memorable snow day. Beginning in late December, the resort offers snow tubing on winter weekends and holidays, treating guests to 500-foot chutes and a hassle-free Magic Carpet Lift for a relaxed ride up the mountain.
3. Shawnee Mountain Ski Area
A crowd-pleasing spot for winter-lovers of all ages, Shawnee Mountain Ski Area treats on the slopes. Families will also have a blast at the resort’s Pocono Plunge Snow Tubing Park. Bundle up and slide down six snowy chutes in either a single tube or tandem tube. For added convenience, the park offers two tube-transporting carpets and lights for moonlight tubing sessions.
4. Jack Frost Mountain
Located just a few miles down the road from Big Boulder, Jack Frost Mountain pairs perfectly with the Poconos’ oldest resort, Big Boulder. The co-owned ski resorts complement one another, and visitors get to explore both Big Boulder and Jack Frost on the same lift ticket. The park’s six mountain-top snow tubing chutes offer another way to tackle the slopes. By using two speedy cable tows, you can spend more time sliding down the hillside and less time waiting in line.
5. Camelback Mountain
Camelback Mountain is an unforgettable winter destination. The resort boasts the largest snow tubing park in the country, with over 40 different lanes, single or double tubes, and two Magic Carpet Lifts.

7. Big Boulder Ski Area
Big Boulder Ski Area is the oldest ski resort in the Poconos, and skiers have been racing down its slopes since 1947. The resort even perfected the practice of artificial snow-making during the 1950s. These days, Big Boulder boasts some of the most varied terrain on the East Coast. While the terrain parks include jumps, tubes, and bars, the resort’s snow-sculpted tubing area also offers plenty of thrills. With two convenient conveyor carpets to take you to up to 20 tubing lanes—and all-day tubing sessions on non-holiday Thursdays—there are plenty of reasons to hit the snow-frosted slopes at Big Boulder.
