In 2018, a portion of the proceeds from the Carbon County WIB luncheons have benefited this organization.
Carbon County Women in Business Co-Chair, Dina Tulli Davis, shares, “As this year comes to a close and we reflect on the success of our revamped Women in Business Program for 2018, we are extremely excited and grateful that this program has helped and brought so many women together in our community. Our theme, “Be Your Own Hero,” really resonated with these women, and even men! It gave them the opportunity to learn more about the hard and soft skills of business, so that they could be more, well-rounded, confident business professionals as well as create balance and harmony in their lives.”
WIB Co-Chair, Shelley J. Hunt, adds, “Every year, our Women in Business Group, will pick a charity to help. A portion of our luncheon and event proceeds will benefit that charity. This year, it was The Anastasia Susko Memorial Scholarship Fund. Anastasia’s mother, Aki Susko, is a co-founder of Carbon County Women in Business, which began many years ago. We look forward to presenting our donation to this wonderful organization. The Anastasia Susko Memorial Scholarship is a one-year, non-renewable $1,500 scholarship awarded annually to any qualified graduating female high school senior from Jim Thorpe Area High School, who exhibits confidence and determination in pursuing her passions.”
The Carbon County Women in Business Group is sponsored by the Carbon Chamber & Economic Development Corporation, the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, First Northern Bank & Trust and Andreas Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning.
The group meets every second Thursday of the month for lunch, networking and personal and professional development. Men are also welcome to attend.
